Where does the madness end? I am so sick of Republicans fighting for the rich and Democrats fighting for the poor. All this is doing is killing the poor man. Do us a favor and put Clinton back and office; why? You may ask, because at the end of his term we were at an all time low on national debt, poverty, and people on welfare was minimal. Every since Bush got in office everything has gone downhill. Then we get Obama in office saying he is going to fix it. I thought for sure since he came from a poor family that he would actually do whatever it took to save us poor and middle class people. Now, I realize and didn’t matter who we put in office. The rich will stay rich and poor will stay poor. Anyway, on to matter’s of the press.
Now, the Republicans and Democrats are going to keep battling till are solders have no funds! Can you imagine being a solder overseas fighting for your country and your country stops paying you; or how about being a wife to one of those solders who rely on that paycheck to keep the bills up and you no longer receive any money? I can because I am an Army wife and I love that title; however I don’t think it’s fair to watch my husband leave all the time and risk his life and have no pay.
Here is what it says for the military: Key national security responsibilities, including operations in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya and earthquake assistance to Japan would not be interrupted by a shutdown, the Pentagon said. U.S. military troops, including those at war, would receive one week's pay instead of two in their next paycheck if the government shuts down. Military personnel at home and abroad would continue to earn pay, but they would not get further paychecks until there is a budget agreement and government operations resume. The government said about 400,000 civilian Defense Department employees would be furloughed, with another 400,000 remaining on the job. Only about 10,000 Veterans Affairs employees would be furloughed, out of a workforce of more than 300,000.
Also, Fox news reports that: Lawmakers worked through the night Thursday to try to reach a budget deal, but with no word on their progress, it was unclear whether or not there would be an announcement in the morning that a federal shutdown had been avoided. And with a shutdown possible as early as midnight at the end of Friday, time is almost up. Following another high-stakes meeting with congressional leaders Thursday evening, President Obama said he expected an answer early Friday on whether or not an agreement had been reached.
Now I have to say you’re the president! You can pass whatever you want; you can veto whatever you want. Why do this to our solders? They defend our Nation! This is just as crazy as ever! Makes me never want to vote again!
