Road workers and why is the snow still on the road; and where is my mail?
We have the National Guards, State, and city workers out there clearing the roads. So, my question is why in almost a week the roads are not cleared. I mean really where are you people? People are out there dying on the main roads; and you’re nowhere to be found. The roads in Pittsburg, KS. are almost all cleared. I know because of the news and my husband has driven over there every day this week but Tuesday; and the roads are cleared. Yet, in Lamar no city person has been around. Mail is NOT being delivered. I mean isn't the mail supposed to run no matter what. It's in their motto. Anyway, I just don't get it. I understand that major roads come first, but how long do you think the elderly or people without ways to get to the store can last on the food they bought. However, way to go to the awesome people out there who have hearts and are clearing the streets of Lamar. I applaud you and the fact that you are willing to spend your time and money so these roads are halfway drivable. I love on the news how they mentioned some people out there doing it for free; then showed two fireman who were actually only helping each other. One was clearing the others driveway and in return the other firefighter was going to fix his hot water heater. Does anyone understand what helping is? It is an act of kindness that you do something for Nothing! They should have talked to the guys who live down the road from me that have been doing everything in their power to get our roads and driveways cleared for nothing! I do not know your names, but thank-you!!!

I agree. I live in Lamar and the city cleared our road on Tuesday night (about 11pm). I have not seen them go down the roads again. The square is extremely bad. We already had our driveway cleared, but our neighbor's brother brought his tractor and cleared all the driveways in our neighborhood that needed to be done Wednesday morning. I do seem to see many more citizens out clearing the roads that road crew workers. We did finally get out mail today, but they have to bring it to our front door because they blocked all the mail boxes while plowing the roads.
ReplyDeleteI feel your frustration and at the same time applaud those individuals that have been out helping people in need.
ReplyDeleteI TOTALLY feel your frustration. Especially because last night I popped my tire on the bumpy roads that are STILL everywhere! 4 inch thick ice patches do not do well on tires! haha
