Snow, Snow, and the military! What a week!
Hmmm Where to begin in this article?? Well let’s see; I will start with the phone rang. Yep! My husband phone rang and on the Caller ID it said Army…. I hate these calls. I am already going crazy as it is when they call. You see I am an army wife so you never want to see Army on the caller ID. My husband was in the shower when the phone rang; so I had to answer it. Of course it’s his captain asking if he is here and I tell him yes he is in the shower can I take a message. With a lump in my throat I waited for his message. Whew, he wants to know if my husband can help with the state of emergency weather. I respond sorry he can’t we only have one vehicle and I don’t want to get stuck in the weather taking him to the Armory (which is an hour and a half away). He says ok Mam thank-you for your time. Now I am not selfish, but I have one vehicle at the moment and three kids what if something bad happens? I need him! So, sorry people I am keeping him for as long as I can. Come to be the next morning... Wow! Where the heck did all this snow come from? We went outside to check on the animals. Bundled up are three girls walk off the porch and I literally lost one of our daughters. My three year old daughter is just barely three foot and she was not tall enough to walk in the snow. We dug here out and went around to the back of the house the dogs were fine, but how was my husband going to get to work? Needless to say 3 hours later and a broken broom because we had no shovels; we finally got the car out of the driveway. Came back in my husband’s job called to say there was no work today. I laughed he said well heck do you guys want to go looking around and see all the snow; and of course all the girls wanted to so we did. We also went to Wal-Mart and they were out of shovels, but my husband got me a new broom. Ok so we decide to go home and to our lovely eye’s we see that somebody was nice enough to clear our street; but now our driveway was blocked and no snow shovel. We went and borrowed one and after two hours of my husband shoveling we finally got back in the drive. Believe it or not it was great. Oh and on another note just don’t tell my husband the military called. I still haven’t told him. Sometimes little white lies are ok, but I am sure when he goes to drills next weekend I am sure somebody will ask him why he always volunteers and this time he didn’t. Not looking forward to that talk, but I am sure he will understand. Oh and by the way tell my internet company to hurry up and fix it. I hate staying the night at other people’s houses just to do homework!! Be safe everyone!
